Page Maker job is available in Karachi for a leading Media/Publishing group. An ideal candidate must have experience as a Page Maker or InPage Compositor, preferably in a daily Urdu newspaper or publishing house.

Page Maker job role is to compose and arrange daily newspaper pages using InPage Urdu, accurately placing news, headlines, images, captions, and advertisements, maintaining proper Urdu typography and page alignment, coordinating with editorial teams, performing final page checks, and delivering print-ready layouts within strict deadlines.

Job Responsibilities:

• Text & Layout Composition: Compose and layout daily newspaper pages using InPage Urdu quickly and accurately according to page grids and editorial instructions.
• Content Placement: Place pre-edited news items, headlines, subheadings, images, captions, and advertisements precisely on designated pages.
• Typography & Grid Standards: Ensure accurate line spacing, font sizes, column widths, text alignment (justification), and overall clean page flow.
• Newsroom Coordination: Work closely with the Copy Editors, Proofreaders, and Editorial desk to incorporate real-time text edits, headline changes, and urgent news updates.
• Ad & Photo Integration: Insert finalized advertisements, photo boxes, and captions accurately into page layouts without altering overall page balance.
• Pre-Print Checking: Perform final page formatting checks to eliminate overlapping text, orphan lines, or missing graphics before sending pages to the printing/plate-making desk.
• Deadline Management: Complete assigned daily pages strictly within the daily editorial press cut-off times.

Requirements:

• InPage Mastery: Highly proficient and fast in operating InPage (Urdu) (keyboard shortcuts, master pages, text wrapping, and grid setup).
• Newspaper Composition Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of proven experience as a Page Maker or InPage Compositor in a daily Urdu newspaper or publication house.
• Urdu Typography Knowledge: Strong understanding of Urdu fonts (Nastaliq, Naskh), column layouts, header/footer spacing, and newspaper page rules.
• Speed & Accuracy: Exceptional typing/composition speed with minimum error rates under strict daily print deadlines.
• Shift Availability: Willingness to work late shifts/night shifts according to newspaper publication cycles.
• Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with basic PDF generation and file sharing protocols for print output.

(Note: This is a daily newspaper page assembly role, not a Graphic Designing position).
