Sub Editor

Sub Editor to be based in Karachi for a leading Urdu Publishing House. An ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree along with relevant experience.

Sub Editor will be responsible for editing, proofreading and rewriting news stories to ensure accuracy, clarity and proper news style.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant newsroom/editing experience.
• Adept at Urdu composing and well-versed with related composing software like Inpage, Mahir etc.
• Strong command of English, editing, proofreading, rewriting and translation.
• Good knowledge of current affairs and editorial standards.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure, including night shifts.
