Shift Officer

Shift Officer job is available in Karachi for a leading New/Publishing group. An ideal candidate must have bachelor’s degree along with 5 years of experience in prepress/newspaper production  including 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory role.

Shift Officer job role is to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of newspaper pages while maintaining high-quality production standards through effective coordination with editorial, design, graphics, proofreading, composing, and printing teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the editorial team to ensure the accuracy of news content being placed in the newspaper.
• Supervise composing, page-making, proofreading, headline designing, and graphics staff for timely newspaper production.
• Manage the overall newspaper-making process efficiently to minimize errors and production delays.
• Coordinate with the press team for the timely handover of printing plates.
• Monitor production quality and ensure compliance with publishing standards.
• Conduct internal inquiries and prepare incident reports in case of any critical issue or production error.
• Prepare and submit operational reports as required by management.
• Ensure smooth shift operations and maintain effective communication among all departments.
• Handle urgent production issues and provide timely solutions during shifts.
