Senior Sub Editor

Senior Sub Editor to be based in Karachi for a leading Urdu Publishing House. An ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree along with relevant experience.

Senior Sub Editor will be responsible for preparing copies/pages, translating, editing, checking and finalizing news stories and pages while ensuring accuracy, clarity, grammatical correctness, and adherence to editorial standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant newsroom/editing experience.
• Adept at Urdu composing and well-versed with related composing software like Inpage, Mahir etc.
• Strong command of English, editing, proofreading, rewriting and translation.
• Good knowledge of current affairs and editorial standards.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure, including night shifts.
