Safety Coordinator

Safety Coordinator job is available in Karachi for a leading Manufacturing Company. An ideal candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in engineering along with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a Safety Officer in construction projects. IOSH or NEBOSH certification is a must.

Safety Coordinator job role is to develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols across all construction projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage the Permit to Work system to control and authorize high-risk activities.
• Ensure that all workers understand and adhere to PTW procedures.
• Develop and implement fire safety plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular fire drills and ensure the availability of firefighting equipment.
• Collaborate with the construction team to identify and mitigate fire hazards.
• Oversee hot work activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-job safety assessments for hot work operations.
• Implement and enforce safety measures for work at heights.
• Conduct regular inspections of fall protection systems.
• Monitor and enforce proper erection and use of scaffolding.
• Ensure compliance with ladder safety standards.
• Develop and enforce electrical safety procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical installations.
• Assess and implement effective machine guarding measures.
• Provide training on safe machine operation and maintenance.
• Develop and update Emergency Response Plans.
• Conduct emergency drills and training sessions for all site personnel.
• Ensure strict compliance with OSHA standards throughout all construction activities.
• Stay abreast of OSHA regulations and update safety protocols accordingly.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
