Generator Operator

Generator Operator job is available in Karachi for a leading Manufacturing Company. An ideal candidate must have B.Tech degree or DAE Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical along with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in operating and maintaining industrial generators.

Generator Operator job role is to ensure safety and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of power generation equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine plant inspections, checking temperatures, pressures, and fluid levels for engines, auxiliaries, cooling towers, and tanks.
• Control generator output to ensure proper phase, frequency, and voltage are delivered to electrical panels.
• Monitor and ensure the proper operation of all running and standby machinery.
• Perform detailed inspections of generators, cables, control panels, breakers, pumps, cooling towers, water transfer systems, and other power generation equipment.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, registers, and reports, documenting operational data and abnormalities.
• To check the values of PH and TDS after every hour and log it into the log book & maintain these values with in their required limits.
• Monitor and maintain all system parameters.
• Document completed scheduled tasks and any abnormalities observed during your shift in the logbook. Verbally brief the incoming shift about any relevant issues.
• Perform cleaning tasks on engine and panel filters for gas engines.
• Conduct weekly battery gravity checks for all engines.
• Manage transitions between K-Electric supply and gas generator supply, and vice versa.
• Prepare daily chemical solutions for dosing.
• Communicate with system operators to regulate and coordinate line voltages, transmission loads, and frequencies.
• Place standby emergency electrical generators on line, in emergencies and monitor the temperature, output and lubrication of the system.
• Assist senior personnel in performing scheduled maintenance tasks (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).
• Replenish and replace lube oil, lube oil filters, and turbo filters. Clean alternators with compressed air.
• Report any observed system abnormalities to the immediate shift supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and organized power house environment.
• Carry out timely cleaning of filter system and ventilation system.
